Essence Rider is back in Louisville!
Starting this weekend, on Saturday, March 2nd, at 11:30, we're hitting our roots at Cafe de Paris, in Louisville, for a weekly show! We began playing as a band at Cafe de Paris in 2008, when we brought a song each per week to the gig, and started building a huge songbook of originals. Now, we're back at it, sadly without the guitar magic of Matt Fuller, who has moved to Brooklyn, but nonetheless, we are excited to play again! Every other week I will play solo piano and with guests. Either way, you are guaranteed a really awesome Saturday of music! We are introducing new originals, and bringing new life into our older tunes. Come hang out with your latte and check out the live music!
Back in the saddle with Essence Rider
After a long time of not playing together, I'm so excited to be at it again this Sunday at the Laughing Goat. After Matt Fuller moved to New York, it was time to consider where the band is headed, what I want to do musically, and whether we would continue playing. Well, I'm glad to say, we're back in action, as local musical guru Mark Donovan joins us at the Laughing goat for a short but sweet set from 8-9 on Sunday January 20th.
Essence Rider with Special Guest: Gabe Mervine
We're excited to have Gabe Mervine join us on Trumpet for a special night of Essence Rider grooves, Wednesday May 30th at Dazzle. Gabe has played with 9th and Lincoln, Greg Harris Vibe Quintet, The Motet, and other great groups in the Denver area. Join us at 7pm! Tickets are $10 for the show, or $20 for show and a copy of our latest recording Triple Leaf on the Dazzle recordings label.
Dazzle Recordings Artist Festival
As the festival draws near, I'm constantly reminded that no matter how much I prepare or don't prepare, everything always turns out fine. We just finished our last rehearsal before Sunday's show, and I can tell you this will be AMAZING! And I'm definitely sticking around for Peter Somer and Dave Devine. Will be a very fun weekend.
